Mills Drawing influence from classic eclectic and symphonic prog bands. shaped by a blend of hard and space rock, and filtered through a lens of contemporary neo-prog, Mind Out Of Mind by K’mono is one of the most thrilling and engaging albums of the year. Take an extended dip into the waters of this tonal oasis.

TheEliteExtremophile This new album from K’mono is exactly the sort of retro-prog album I love, though I do hesitate to use that label with this band. They unashamedly draw from key players of the 1970s, but they also have their own twists, and more modern sensibilities are evident too, especially in the mixing and arrangements.

Halt before the chamber maiden sees you there And calls you on your fault It’s greatness only in these quarters A peasant once is a peasant through and through Everything’s easy when you’re in control From the powers in the towers to the lowest dungeon floor Everything’s deadly when no one’s saying no A prisoner of freedom - a victim of extol Shock and awe It’s a long way home Shock and awe It’s much too far - you’re grave bound Much too much Power to uphold Trust in the courts And the men inside When the gavel strikes How will they decide It’ll all be slept away Trust in the courts And a few inside Are they with me now Are they on my side Or all saving face Distrust in the courts And all inside They’ll rip me apart And take my hide It’ll all fade away Now here I sit with an open mouth Stuffing something down my throat Now they’re filling me to extremities Something down, down, down my throat Shunned from the castle And the fools inside Driven to the woods With an aching side The ground begins to move Shunned from the castle And the fools inside Into the woods With a scrambled mind The trees begin to look I need a hand A human hand Everything used to be so much easier Get me out of this crown No, there’s no easy way out of this I’m losing my mind And yet no matter what I do I feel it escaping me I’m going mad, you know My mind is coming out of my mind I’m going mad, I’m going mad I’m going somewhere and I’m not sure if you’ll see me again

Good-Looking 03:57
Hey sweet thing, I love the way you move The way you romp on through Which I could never do Something about the way you hold a groove It feels inside out It feels like a dream I yearn to be lost in Those curves never seem to end That color always tends to mend Whoever that is on the horizon You’re awfully good-looking Velvet figure fading like a ruse Amorphous figure threw itself into the cryptic blue Something is wrong, the way I see you pulse I’m doing the most I can to catch up and figure you out Those curves never seem to end That color always tends to mend Whatever that is on the horizon It’s awfully good-looking

Gotta find my brain in the lost and found Gotta find my brain - gotta figure you out Exiled from the district Contravened and forced Into the wild Instantly a vagabond Until the air Clears up in my aid It’s only me From the throne to solitude for keeps I’m still unsure where they found that flower The flower they shoved down my throat A sacred stimulant The Elderflower Nightmares manifested Delusions coming true But I’ll keep on fighting Until the end To disregard the public eye Until the light Shows it self again It’s all I have World-building from an egg just hatched Until the dream Comes to an end The king has been demoted to a dram Gotta find my brain in the lost and found Gotta find my brain - gotta figure it out

Though I once was heinous and unkind Now I come to speak as one of you Plead for you to faithfully align Plead for you to see the journey through There is no fire to be a part of this Have you truly changed? The shift in you sustained? And time will tell us if you've found your way And time is quickly slipping through your hands In time
5.
Can you tell me where I need to be Can you show me all that’s been removed Can you fill me in so fruitfully I need a guide Can you take me where I need to be Can you show me all that’s missing now Can you answer all the questions I have asked myself Begging for a prophet to caress me with wisdom Adrift in a perilous state In came the cherubs with their rays Transporting me to sanctuary A charming glow to lead the way Preserving wishes for a rouse Ascend the deserts of the weak Ascend the canyons of the wrong Within the forest hides the key A township acquiesced and bold Sun of the need Tell me the lore
6.
Safety in numbers The power in reciprocation, in harmony Alone on this journey, I’d lost the path But with a hundred new limbs We’re evading a noxious past The millipede forms Let’s walk the walk And find our mind The millipede forms Let’s walk the walk And take it all back Fear subsides As the lair comes into view Determined to dissolve the sorcery involved Aghast for far too long We’re coming in strong What’s mine is mine I swear we’re not too far off now I swear we’ll see a return to the 'E' There’s a taste of triumph in the air now Love is flowing through me again
7.
Now when the squire aims the spire at the scoundrel We’ll harness all of these purloins So watch him fall and see all of his wickedness Crashing down beneath the sky The risk alone was known The heinous had it coming since the dawn Rights for saints in woe The altruists advancing says it all The man I used to be was pure Guileless in the face of fear The man I used to be was lost But here he is a wielding boss Victory bestowed Westward on our way back home Villains taken down Necromancers chastened, squelched or bound Pilgrimage is through Answers hiding inside you Mirror man peers back Conquering the hardships of the mind Stay the saint you are Revel in your finest hour - it could have been your last The past serves the future now You are the archetype
